Rickenbacker Hangar 888 Renovation
V-Line Services LLC, serving as Prime Contractor with Place Services, Inc. as the primary subcontractor, successfully delivered a $15.5 million renovation project for the 121st Air Refueling Wing at Rickenbacker ANG Base in Columbus, Ohio. The scope involved modernizing 52,300 SF of existing hangar space, including administrative and shop areas. Work included the demolition of non-load-bearing walls, restrooms, offices, and shop spaces, followed by the installation of new electrical, mechanical, plumbing, communications, and wall systems to create functional spaces for the Medical Clinic Admin/Tng and EMEDS Admin/Tng areas. The southwest section was transformed from an ASE maintenance shop into a Physical Fitness Center, while other areas were reconfigured to support Squadron Operations and the Small Air Terminal/Deployment Processing Center. Upgrades also included insulating exterior walls for energy efficiency and replacing the existing dry fire suppression system with a wet system. All renovations were completed within the existing building envelope with no added square footage.

- Project Scope: The scope of this project includes but is not limited to the following: replace the existing copper networking cabling (CAT5e, CAT6) with new CAT6a network cabling for the Chalmers P. Wylie Ambulatory Care Center in Columbus, OH.; Renovate the existing MCR/Data Center room to comply with current VA OIT and Engineering standards; Renovate the existing building Telecommunication Room(s) (TR’s) to comply with current VA OIT and Engineering Standards; Renovations will include but not be limited to Telecommunication, Electrical, Mechanical, Fire Protection, Security, and Architectural changes.
